The West Edmonton Mall’s newest waterslide, the Cyclone, promises a 17-metre drop for riders, followed by a “near vertical loop” and speeds of nearly 60 kilometres per hour. “Sliders step into a glass capsule, and after an automated voice counts down from three, the floor drops from beneath them, sending them on their journey,” the mall’s press release reads.
